Variable rate Growth Regulator
Before Winter Oilseed Rape Control

Before winter, slow the big plants and let the small ones grow.
Oilseed rape needs to go into winter at the right size. Overgrown plants are more likely to winterkill, and small plants need every bit of growth they can still get. One field often has both, so a single growth regulator rate is wrong for most of it.
A drone captured the 26.27-hectare field, and CultiWise used the NDVI to split it into four zones by canopy density. Dense green zones got the full dose to slow their growth. Thin red zones got only a fraction, because regulating a plant that is already small just stresses it. The map worked out the spray volume in advance, and the FendtOne terminal applied it in 1-metre sections.

The field used 34.48% less growth regulator, worth €4.45 per hectare. That is the smaller part of the win. The bigger part is what didn’t happen: no stunted small plants going into frost, no weak spots to deal with in spring, no yield lost before the season even started. The crop went into winter even, every zone at the size it needed to be.
