Targeted Desiccation for Uniform Ripening

A drone survey captured canopy variation across a sunflower field, revealing differences in crop maturity. The imagery was analyzed in CultiWise, which generated a variable-rate desiccation prescription map highlighting green, unripe zones still requiring treatment.

By applying the desiccant only to the identified unripe areas, the operator avoided overspraying already mature plants. The prescription map also provided precise guidance on the total mixture volume, optimizing tank use and reducing the number of refills. This targeted approach ensured even ripening, improved harvest efficiency, and reduced chemical use.
