He killed patches of his own wheat on purpose
Jun 29
• 3 min read
James O’Reilly killed patches of his own winter wheat on purpose. Less than one hectare of it. Out of 26. And it was a good call.
Harper Adams Results: CultiWise in UK Fields
Jun 8
• 5 min read
CultiWise is already working in UK fields. This season Edward Wardroper ran the first UK trials at Harper Adams University and the results came back strong. 75% predicted herbicide saving on volunteer beans in winter wheat. 81% on docks in a grass ley. Both green on green, both from this year's crops. The AI separated ryegrass from wheat on a slight colour difference alone. The map goes straight into a John Deere. More fields, more crops, more UK data. The detections only get better from here.
James O’Reilly: Spot Spraying in Practice
Jun 2
• 4 min read
One of the things we hear most from farmers is the trade-off that comes with difficult weeds. Use the rate that works and risk the crop. Drop the rate to protect the crop and accept poor control. James O’Reilly, a tillage farmer from Kilkenny, ran into exactly that problem this season and the way he solved it is worth sharing.
CultiWise and AMAZONE Partnership
May 15
• 3 min read
CultiWise and AMAZONE are working together to make smart farming workflows simpler and easier to use in daily farm operations. The partnership improves the connection between CultiWise prescription maps and AMAZONE technology, helping farmers move from planning to field execution with less manual work. Together, the two companies make it easier to turn field data into machine-ready applications for seeding, fertilizing, and crop protection.
SPOT SPRAYING BEFORE SOWING
Mar 19
• 4 min read
Before sowing, weeds on bare soil can quietly take over more of your field than you think. Instead of spraying the whole area, spot spraying helps you target only the green patches that need treatment, cutting herbicide use, saving time, and keeping clean soil untouched.
Fertilizing Time
Feb 3
• 5 min read
The fields are waking up. In just a few weeks, the first tractors will be heading out for the most critical task of the early season: the first fertilizer application.
Seeding plan

December on the farm doesn’t really feel like a break. The fields may be resting, but your head is working hard. Seed reps are calling, emails with discounts and “promo bundles” keep coming in, and on top of that, there’s pressure to secure your favourite hybrids while they’re still available.
